Dylan Brennan, born in London on March 30, 2006, is a rising voice in the literary world. Currently reading Law at Oxford University, Dylan’s passion for writing began early in primary school, and over time, his love for storytelling evolved from a childhood hobby into a professional pursuit.
Dylan’s debut novel, Noble: Betrayed, was written during the COVID-19 pandemic and published on October 4th, 2022, and has garnered praise for its fusion of epic fantasy and post-apocalyptic science-fiction, as well as for its poignant exploration of domestic abuse in many forms. This release has since become Noble Day, when Dylan shares updates on his ongoing projects. Notably, Noble: Betrayed sold well above the average for self-published debut authors. Dylan’s marketing efforts included a successful appearance at the AIM Literary Festival where his speech inspiring young authors was met with widespread acclaim.
Since then, Dylan has been releasing a steady stream of short stories and poetry while taking his A-Levels at St George’s Catholic School. His upcoming projects continue the creative fusions he enjoys, with Master Misfortune combining a crime thriller with a critique of the digital world’s hold on love, and Noble: Divided, the heavily-anticipated sequel to his debut.
Dylan’s favourite authors include George R.R. Martin, Franz Kafka and Andrzej Sapkowski. He also draws lots of inspiration from his love of video games (he has cited Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect as influences) as well as music from artists such as The Strokes and Queens of the Stone Age.
Dylan would like to encourage aspiring writers not to view age (whether they perceive themselves to be too young or too old to start) as an impediment to success, as passion and dedication can overcome any obstacle.
